DeskOne is more than a picture of someone else’s desktop. During a session you have a command panel at hand: restart the remote computer, open Task Manager, PowerShell or Settings on it, turn on sound and the microphone, switch to game mode. Here is everything DeskOne can do.

Full control of a remote Windows computer

Mouse and keyboard · sound and microphone · files and clipboard · Windows commands in one click

Desktop control

Once connected by ID, you see the remote screen and work on it with your own mouse and keyboard: open programs, edit documents, configure the system. The picture is sent as a compressed video stream, and you choose the quality to match your connection.

Image quality

Four modes: Maximum — accurate colors and lossless still frames; High — the full screen at up to 20 Mbit/s; Medium — sized exactly to your window for the best response; Economy — for slow internet.

Your own cursor

Your cursor on the remote machine is a separate dark arrow: you and the person at the computer move your mice independently and see who is pointing where.

Session timer

The session bar can show how long you have been connected. The bar adapts to the window size.

Remote access with sound and microphone

Turn on sound and you hear everything playing on the remote computer: music, video, games, system sounds. Volume and audio quality (96 to 192 kbit/s or uncompressed) are adjusted right in the session.

The “Reply by voice” button turns on your microphone — handy when you help a relative or colleague and want to explain things without a separate call.

Game mode

In games the mouse controls the camera, and ordinary cursor transfer gets in the way. In game mode DeskOne sends mouse movement the way games expect it. Turn it on in the session panel or with Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G. If a game has captured the mouse, the Desktop button minimizes all windows at once.

Command panel: Windows control in one click

The Commands menu collects actions that usually need keyboard shortcuts or a long search through menus on the remote computer. They come in three groups.

Rescue — works even when input does not get through

  • Task Manager opens right in the session, bypassing the secure screen, so you can end a frozen program or game.
  • Desktop — minimize all windows at once, like Win+D. A way out of a game that has captured the mouse.
  • Lock — like Win+L on that machine. Reversible: unlock with the Windows password.
  • Ctrl+Alt+Del (real) — opens the Windows secure screen. Actions on it must be confirmed at the machine itself, so for Task Manager and locking the buttons above are more convenient.

System — without elevated rights

  • PowerShell and Command Prompt (cmd.exe) on the remote computer with normal user rights.
  • Device Manager — check that machine’s hardware and drivers.
  • Control Panel and the Windows Settings app.
  • Run — the Win+R dialog on that machine.

Power: restart a remote computer

  • Restart the remote computer.
  • Shut down the remote computer.
  • Sign out — end the current user’s session on that machine.

These commands end the session, so DeskOne asks again: press the button a second time to confirm. A computer that has been shut down has to be turned back on by hand.

Files and clipboard

Copy text, a file or an entire folder on one computer and paste it on the other. File transfer works in both directions. Each side can turn off the shared clipboard on its end; then nothing leaves or arrives at that computer.

Privacy during a session

Blank the screen

The remote monitor goes dark, so people near it cannot see what you are doing.

Lock mouse and keyboard

Nobody at that machine can take over control while the session is running.

Hide the wallpaper

A plain desktop means less traffic and faster response. The wallpaper returns after you disconnect.

All of this is undone automatically at the end of the session — even if the app closes unexpectedly.

FAQ

How do I restart a remote computer and reconnect?

Open Commands → Restart and press the button again to confirm. If unattended access is enabled on that machine and DeskOne starts with Windows, you can reconnect after the restart with the personal password.

Can I play games through DeskOne?

Yes. Turn on game mode (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+G) and sound, and pick an image quality that matches your internet speed.

Do the commands run with administrator rights?

No. PowerShell, Command Prompt and the other system tools open with the normal rights of that machine’s user.
