Your parents cannot find the right button, a colleague’s printer will not print, grandma deleted something by accident? With DeskOne you connect to their computer over the internet, see the screen and fix the problem yourself — instead of explaining over the phone.
Remote computer help in a minute
The person on the other end only needs to read out an ID and a password
How to help remotely in 3 steps
- Ask the person you are helping to install DeskOne — send them the download link — and install it yourself.
- Ask them to read out the ID and password from the main window. The password is one-time: it changes every time DeskOne starts.
- Connect. They will see a request, allow access and choose the permissions: full control or view only.
Why it is convenient for helping family
Voice without a call
Turn on your microphone with “Reply by voice” and explain what you are doing right in the session.
Two cursors
Your cursor is a separate dark arrow, so both of you see who is pointing where.
Files both ways
Send a document or an installer through the shared clipboard.
If everything freezes
Task Manager and restart are in the command panel, even when a program on the other side stops responding.
Security
Nobody can connect without the ID and password, and with a one-time password the person confirms every connection themselves. Sessions are encrypted end to end.
Important: explain to your family that the ID and password must only be shared with people they know. Scammers often call pretending to be from a bank or tech support and ask to install a remote access program — never give such callers access.
FAQ
How much does it cost to help family?
Nothing: 2 hours of connection per day are free, which is enough for home tasks.
What if the person is far away on mobile internet?
DeskOne works over any internet connection. On a weak connection choose the Economy quality mode.
Can I connect without them reading out a password every time?
Yes: on their computer you can turn on access with a personal password, or they can remember you as a trusted operator.
